Short Overview
The protection of personal data in today’s digital economy of innovative technologies and artificial intelligence is a complex and demanding issue for companies, businesses, and public organizations. It is crucial for them to harness the immense potential of data while respecting the requirements of data protection legislation. This educational program is addressed to executives, employees, and professionals, as well as graduates from all fields who wish to gain an in-depth understanding of data protection legislation and security issues (General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR, Law 4624/2019, ePrivacy), the obligations arising from the practical application of the relevant legal framework, and to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills in this field. In addition, the program examines the core concepts of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the related personal data protection challenges, and the resulting obligations and requirements in the context of AI system training, use, and operation, as well as the interaction between the GDPR and the AI Regulation. Moreover, the program includes an analysis of current EU legislative acts that form the EU’s strategy for developing the digital economy and their interaction with the GDPR, in order to support organizations in adapting their strategies and responding effectively to legislative developments and requirements including the Digital Markets Act (DMA), Digital Services Act (DSA), Data Governance Act (DGA), and the Data Act (DA).
Learning Goals
Upon completion of the program, the trainee will be in the position to:
- gain an in-depth understanding of the fundamental requirements for the protection and security of personal data
- understand the basic principles of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its connection to personal data protection
- become familiar with the relationship between data protection and the recent EU regulations in the context of the modern digital economy and strategy challenges
- engage in the analysis of practical examples and case law and will receive support throughout the training
Program Value
In the context of today’s data-driven society and economy, it is essential for participants to acquire a deep understanding, knowledge, and skills regarding personal data protection and the corresponding legal requirements and obligations (GDPR, implementing Law 4624/2019, ePrivacy). They will gain in-depth insights into the protection and security of personal data, organizational responsibilities, and the adoption of best practices through the analysis of case law, practical examples, and case studies. Participants will also acquire knowledge and competencies related to data governance in the context of AI system training and usage, and the interaction between the GDPR and the AI Regulation. Furthermore, they will be informed about and gain a thorough understanding of the recent EU legislative acts that form part of the Union’s strategy for the development of the digital economy and the implementation of digital transformation strategies, as well as how these acts connect with and interact with the GDPR. The program is of great value, as it addresses the timely and complex issue of personal data protection in the modern digital environment, which is increasingly shaped by innovative technologies and the widespread adoption of Artificial Intelligence. The effective combination of these elements will enable companies and organizations to enhance their economic performance while respecting the intricate legal framework-constantly evolving through new EU regulations-and to gain a competitive advantage in the digital economy.
Weekly Schedule
Classes will be held Wednesdays and Fridays, 6pm-9pm, at the Center's location (Kefallinias 45, Athens)

Evaluation Method And Final Grade Computation
The participating trainees will be assessed through questions on the platform. A trainee who successfully completes the assessment (with a score of at least 50 out of 100) is considered to have successfully completed the training program. In the case of an unsuccessful completion of the program, with a score below 50, the trainee will be allowed to participate in a repeat examination.
Learning Method Description
Trainees can attend the program in two different ways: through in-person attendance, or via Live Streaming, meaning through an online platform from a location of their choice. The Live Streaming method offers the following advantages:
- Training without geographical limitations
- Live attendance of lectures from the trainee’s own space
- Ability to ask questions to the instructor in real time
- Access to recorded lectures for later viewing
- Electronic access to the program’s educational material (the full material is provided free of charge)
